The street signs in the Washington DC area are horrible. I've compiled these U.S. Geological Service satellite images from the from the Microsoft® TerraServer so that I can better acquaint myself with the area.
For lack of creating an image map, the following options are available.
Larger image (4 images each 672 x 448 pixels for overall 205-Kbyte) of picture shown at right.
Composite image (88 images each 144 x 96 pixels for overall 853-Kbyte) of area within Red, White and Blue boundary.
Large image (25 images each 672 x 448 pixels for overall 891-Kbyte) of area within Red boundary (Cleveland Park on the north to Lafayette Square, which is just north of the White House, to the south. Rock Creek Park runs north to south through image).
Large image (28 images each 672 x 448 pixels for overall 875-Kbyte) of area within White boundary (National Mall area including White House on northern boundary, Lincoln Memorial to the west and the U.S. Capital to the east).
Large image (35 images each 672 x 448 pixels for overall 1.0-Mbyte) of area within Blue boundary (Pentagon on the west to Washington Navy Yard to the east).
